After application, the bond strength will increase as the adhesive flows onto the surface. At room temperature approximately 50% of ultimate bond strength will be achieved after 20 minutes, 90% after 24 hours and 100% after 72 hours.
Most surfaces are best prepared by cleaning with a 50:50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and water prior to applying 3M™ VHB™ Tapes in order to achieve maximum bond.
For best results, it's recommended to apply even pressure to the tape with a roller.
Applications :
Automotive applications include: side visor, wheel weight, personalization logo, spoiler, gas doors ornamentation, additional mirror, wind seal, etc.
General applications include: mounting of mirrors, signs, nameplates, hooks and soap dispensers as well as mounting of reflectors and signs; filling and sealing gaps around windows, doors, and automotive tops for better insulation.
